Billing
Billing is per workspace. Each workspace has its own trial, subscription, and seat count. Only the workspace owner can choose a plan, open the billing portal, or cancel.
Open it from Settings → Billing.
Plans
One plan, billed by active seats (people with access to the workspace):
| Plan | Price |
|---|---|
| Monthly | $19 per active seat, billed every month |
| Annual | $180 per active seat per year — $15/month effective, save $48 per seat |
There is no free Team plan and no feature tiers on collaborative memory. Trial and paid workspaces get the same Team product: LinkedIn/Google workspace panels, dashboard, contacts, searches, stages, notes, activity, and invitations.
Forever-free tools
These stay free forever and do not require a Team plan:
| Tool | What you get |
|---|---|
| Boolean builder | Public /boolean — build LinkedIn and Google X-ray strings; guest history stays in your browser |
| Shared Boolean history | Workspace Mine/Team history on /app/boolean/history — save from the generator after signup; stays writable even when the workspace is otherwise read-only |
| SERP visit timestamps | Local Visited · … badges on Google organic results (Chrome history on your device; not synced to Modri) |
Messaging: Boolean builder and shared Boolean history stay free forever.
Trial
The trial is 14 days of full access, with no credit card.
It does not start when you sign up. Creating an account and looking around is free. The clock starts when someone on the workspace saves the first LinkedIn profile.
Until that first save, Billing shows Trial ready. After it, Billing shows Free trial and the end date.
If you choose a plan before saving a profile, there is no trial to start. Billing shows the paid subscription, and saving the first profile does not start a 14-day clock.
In the last 7 days of an unpaid trial, a reminder appears in the app so the owner can choose a plan before writes lock.
If the trial ends without a paid plan, the workspace becomes read-only. Existing contacts stay visible; the team cannot save or edit until a plan is chosen.
Choosing a plan
- Open Settings → Billing as the workspace owner.
- Choose Monthly or Annual.
- Complete payment on the checkout page.
- You return to Billing in Modri.
Checkout is charged for the current number of active members. If three people are in the workspace, checkout is for three seats.
Payment confirmation can take a moment. Returning to Modri is not what unlocks the workspace — the confirmed payment is. Billing pulls the latest status from the payment provider when you return, then refreshes again if it is still catching up.
Plan cards are shown when the workspace has no subscription yet, or after a subscription has fully ended (canceled, expired, fully refunded, or disputed). While a subscription is active, use Billing portal instead of starting a second checkout.
If you subscribe during the trial, Billing switches to the paid subscription. The trial reminder goes away.
Seats
Each active member is one seat, including the owner. The seat count follows membership:
- Someone accepts an invite — they get access immediately. If that takes the workspace above the seats already paid for this period, the extra seat is charged right away for the remaining days.
- Someone is removed — they lose access immediately. The next bill is lower. There is no credit or refund for the unused days in the current period.
- A pending invite is revoked — that does not change seats, because the person never joined.
Seat charges follow the net number of active members once billing has caught up with Creem. If you remove someone and add someone else before that update is sent, the billed quantity stays the same and there is no extra mid-period charge. If the decrease has already been sent, adding a person later is a new seat and is charged for the rest of the period.
From the next billing date, you are charged only for whoever is active then.
Invites cannot be sent or accepted while the workspace is read-only. Revoking a pending invite still works.
If a seat update is still catching up with the payment provider, a warning can appear: member access is already correct, and billing quantity will follow.
If a payment fails
A failed renewal does not lock the workspace immediately. The team can keep working while the owner updates the payment method in Billing portal.
A warning appears in the app until payment recovers. If it does not, the workspace becomes read-only.
A full refund or a payment dispute makes the workspace read-only right away. A partial refund does not. After a full refund or dispute, the owner can choose a new plan from Billing to restore writes.
Canceling
From Billing, the owner can Cancel at period end. The workspace stays fully usable through the already-paid period. A notice in the app makes that visible.
Undo cancellation restores the subscription before that period ends.
Billing portal is for invoices, the payment method, and other subscription details. Access still follows the paid period, even if cancellation is completed there.
After the paid period ends, the workspace becomes read-only. The owner can choose a plan again from Billing.
Read-only workspaces
A workspace becomes read-only when:
- The trial ended and no plan was chosen
- A canceled or expired subscription has passed its paid period
- The subscription is paused
- A payment was fully refunded, or a dispute is open
The team can still open the dashboard, view contacts, and revoke pending invites.
The team cannot save or edit contacts, change searches or stages, add notes, record activity, or invite new members. Boolean history remains writable — members can still save, update, and delete their own Boolean searches. The LinkedIn extension stays visible but will not save profiles — it explains that the workspace is read-only and that the owner needs to update billing.
To restore writes, the owner opens Settings → Billing: choose a plan if there is none, after a refund, or after a dispute; or update the payment method in the portal if payment needs recovery.
Who sees what
| Person | Billing |
|---|---|
| Owner | Full Billing page, checkout, portal, cancel / undo |
| Everyone else | Can see that billing exists; only the owner can change it |
Members still see workspace warnings (trial ending, read-only, payment recovery) so they know why saves might fail. The owner action is always Open billing.
