Positions

Positions classify who you were sourcing a person for — a role, a client, or a project — not how far outreach has gone.

Config → Positions answers “what were we hiring?” Default seed: Frontend developer, Backend developer, Fullstack developer, Other.

A profile’s Status can be Contacted while its Position is Backend developer. They change independently.

Open Config → Positions

Owners and Admins add, edit, color, reorder, and delete. Members have view-only access.

Name them the way the desk talks

Use role names, client names, or project names — whatever you say in Slack. Avoid duplicating statuses (“Contacted”) as positions.

Assign on save

In the extension or profile modal, pick a position when you know the bucket. Unassigned is fine for a first pass.

What happens next

Profiles and Home can filter and chart by position. Boolean queries stay separate — a saved Boolean is not a Position.

After your first LinkedIn save, the owner coach offers Tailor positions. That is this screen. Skipping it keeps the defaults.
